The Belle Haven Four-Ball

Founded in 1949, The Belle Haven Four-Ball is an amateur invitational four-ball tournament played at Belle Haven Country Club. It is one of the most anticipated and prestigious four-ball events in the Mid-Atlantic - commonly known as the tournament which ushers in the amateur golf season in the Mid-Atlantic region.

This year marks our 74th anniversary. Over the years, the tournament has drawn on some of the best amateurs in the game and have included one US Amateur champion, two British Amateur champions and one Senior British Amateur champion. In addition, a number of past Four Ball participants have later gone on to play successfully on the PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions and Korn Ferry Tours.

Ninety two-man teams compete in the Belle Haven Four Ball. There are two divisions Open and Senior and each two-man team plays better ball, stroke play, at scratch. After the second day of play, there is a cut. Based on past years, the cut has been around 144, or even par. The winning team in both Divisions generally shoots between 200 to 206 or 10 to 16 shots under par for the three days.
